Erstmals auf der CES 2007 in Las Vegas und auf der CeBIT im März 2007 in Hannover vorgestellt, ist das Asus W5Fe nun auch in Deutschland verfügbar. Das leistungsstarke Subnotebook mit der revolutionären Side Show Technologie verpackt seine Funktionen und speziellen Features in einem geschmeidigen und leichten Design und ist der optimale Begleiter für alle Business Anwender. SideShow ermöglicht einem den Zugriff auf E-Mails, Kontakte, Bilder uvm. über ein Zusatzdisplay, ohne das System zu booten. Ein weiteres Highlight des W5Fe ist die um 235° drehbare 1,3 Megapixel Kamera, die im Displaydeckel integriert ist. Das W5Fe ist mit einem Intel Core 2 Duo T5600 mit 1,83GHz, 1GB Arbeitsspeicher, einem 12,1“ WXGA TFT und einer 2,5“ 120GB S-ATA Festplatte ausgestattet. Als Betriebssystem ist das neue Windows Vista in der Business Version von Microsoft installiert. Das W5Fe ist zu einem Preis von 2099 EUR inkl. MwSt. ab sofort erhältlich. Es gibt von Asus auch eine weiße Version des W5, das W5Fm mit ähnlicher Hardwareausstattung.
